Bear Mountain Resort Pass Frequently Asked Questions

Ecoasis remains committed to your health and safety and is pleased to advise that we are implementing our new Resort Pass program.

What changes are being made to accessing the Bear Mountain Trail Network?
Admittance to the trail network is being formalized with the Trail Network Program and Resort Pass. With the new program, those who wish to enjoy the wilderness trails will be
required to sign a waiver of liability-there will be no exceptions. Additionally, for non-residents or non-members of Bear Mountain, a user fee has been introduced.

Why is Ecoasis implementing restrictions on access to the Trail Network?
The Resort Pass has been implemented, in part, as a response to community concerns about safety issues arising from increased unauthorized public traffic in the community. At the same time, it responds to our liability insurer’s request to improve our waiver-of-liability procedures on Ecoasis lands.

How do I access the trails and is there a user fee, if I am a Resident?
As a resident, use of the trails on the private Ecoasis lands will be free of charge, you do, however, need to visit the Bear Mountain Activity Centre (BMAC), sign a waiver of liability annually, and pick up your wrist band to access the trails.

Am I required to check in at BMAC each time I want to access the trails?
No, once signed, your waiver is valid for a year and only needs to be renewed annually from the date of signature. As a Bear Mountain resident, the nature of our dedicated trails is yours to discover and to enjoy with family and friends in a safe and responsible manner.

Do I need proof of residency at time of signing the waiver of liability?
Yes, please bring proof of address at time of signing i.e. a piece of mail, driver’s license or the like.

As a resident, can I bring guests with me and is there a charge?
Guests of residents, who may be staying with them at the time, will be able to access the Trail Network at no charge when accompanied by a resident. They are, however, asked to sign a waiver of liability at BMAC.

Can I use the Ecoasis parking lots when I use the trails?
There is a gravel parking lot at the corner of Country Club Way and Bear Mountain Parkway. Please feel free to park in the parking lot in that location when using the Trail Network. You will see signage at the parking lot that invites trail users to use that area to park at no cost.

How do I access trails as a hotel guest or non-resident?
Ecoasis welcomes non-residents and visitors to Bear Mountain to enjoy unimpeded access to the natural beauty of Bear Mountain private lands by registering and purchasing a Resort Pass and signing a waiver of liability.
